Arm Fat Motivation Boosters
Many women spend way too much time trying to find the absolute best arm-toning program before taking any action. Even worse, some women end up taking NO action because they get paralyzed from so much analyzing.
I have some good news, there is no best anything. Perfection and absolutes do not exist. However, let’s assume that in our arm fat world the best program did in fact exist. Would you be able to keep on doing it month in and month out?
If you didn’t have some type of mental framework in place, this would be very hard. It’s not easy for us to stick with something for extended periods of time. If it were, we would all be ultra successful.
How do you stay motivated ad infinitum? We are very complex creatures psychologically speaking, and answering this question within the space of a single article is impossible. However, I do have 4 rapid fire tips for staying motivated if you’re trying to lose arm fat:
1. Visualize the positive of doing, not the negative of not doing. If you constantly flagellate yourself into taking action, be careful, very careful. This type of technique may be effective in the short run, but in the long run it will eat away at your motivation until your reach a tipping point. Instead, visualize all the positives of taking action to get rid of that arm fat. This way you WANT to get moving, and don’t feel like you HAVE to get moving.
2. Use a scientific attitude when you fail. What’s the first thing you do when you mess up? You probably get very emotional. Even worse, some women internalize the situation and put all the blame on themselves. The end result is a sense of low self efficacy and reduced willpower to move forward. If you mess up, analyze the situation, the EXTERNAL factors that led to the malfunction and ever label or blame yourself.
3. Understand that motivation isn’t instantaneous. Nobody has oodles and oodles of motivation on demand. Many times, even the most successful people have to start moving regardless of how they feel in order to get motivated. If you feel like doing nothing one day, and this will happen, simply start going through the motions!
4. Avoid pairing anger with criticism. You will encounter people who will criticize some aspect of your arm fat mission. Unfortunately, the world is full of these loud and obnoxious types. You know, the ones that always say what’s on their minds without any filter? Here’s what to do: deconstruct the criticism, define with precision the points of contention. It’s usually a lack of definition (i.e., ambiguity) that makes the criticism seem valid. If you take it apart and define each element, both you and your criticizer will notice that there usually is no issue.
I’ll be honest here, learning how to maintain motivation takes some practice. And every day will bring something new. But reaching your arm fat goal is possible. Many women have already done what you want to do.
Finally, don’t wait to take action on this information. If you do, you will most likely forget what you have learned.
