Getting Rid of Acne in a Day – Is it Possible?
There are several types, as well as several causes of acne thus, it is not a condition that is simple to treat. Acne is a disease of the skin and affects individuals differently so, a treatment that works for one individual may not work for another.
Getting rid of acne in a day it only possible if you only have one or two pimples to get rid of, in other words a mild case. If however, you suffer from a moderate to severe case it can take weeks, months, and even years before it clears up completely.
The first thing that you need to understand is that since there are several types and causes of acne. Treatment will consist of trial and error. There are many products available, from over the counter creams and ointments, prescribed medications, and oral tablets to surgical procedures.
When using an over-the-counter medication for mild or slightly moderate case of acne you may see results within a day. If your acne is a moderate to severe case and do not see results in a few weeks, you should see a dermatologist as it may take prescribed medications to get it under control.
Since there are different types of acne involved in moderate to severe case of acne, it may take more than one medication to clear it up. A dermatologist can more easily identify the medications that will work to get it under control. You can, if you wish, to keep trying different over-the-counter medications until you find or more that works but, that could take years. So, unless you are will to live with acne that long, get professional help.
Since it will take a little bit of time to find the proper treatment or combination of treatments, there are things you can do to control it now and keep it from getting worse. Start with not over washing the affected areas, twice a day is enough, and was gently with bare hands and fingertips only. Using a washcloth or scrub pad will only irritate the skin making the acne worse. Also, do not use abrasive soaps or cleansers, use only mild soap, and remember wash gently. After washing you should wait a minimum of fifteen minutes before applying topical medications, this is because wet skin it absorbent and over absorption of the medication can irritate your skin.
When using creams and/or topical medications, avoid exposure to sun as these creams and/or medications can make skin sensitive to sun, thus causing sun burns. If you need to be in the sun use oil free sun-screen. Speaking of oil free, if you wear make-up, put it on after the acne cream and be sure it is oil free, and the same goes for any skin care products you are using, oil free only.
If you suffer from moderate to severe acne, then getting rid of acne in a day is impossible. It may take up to eight weeks before you even begin to see any type of improvement, and if you are using over-the-counter medications with out success, you should see a dermatologist. Waiting to see one will make it harder and take longer to clear up the acne. If you are only dealing with one or two pimples then, getting rid of acne in a day is very possible with the right treatment.
