Public Health Care Option

There has been a lot of talk and controversy regarding the new health care reform, and many have questions as to what it will do for them. When talking a closer look at the plan, you will be able to see that it will most definitely be beneficial to those individuals that are living each day without any health care insurance.

First off, the plan will assist those in low income households who are unable to afford health coverage for themselves or their families. These are not those individuals that the government is currently helping, they are the group of Americans that are parents of the low income children that Medicaid covers and pregnant women.

The second group that seems to gain from the Obama health plan is those students who either graduate from High School or College only to be ousted from their parents’ insurance plans into the real world paying high cost premiums while trying to repay their student loans. This group will now be allowed to remain on their parent’s health insurance plans until the age of 26, providing them additional time to get their lives in order before having to pick up this additional expense.

Then there are the individuals that have a pre-existing condition. With the new health plan, insurance companies will not be allowed to turn anyone away based on their medical history. It has become a large problem, to date, when individuals loss their jobs and are finding it difficult to find new medical insurance because of a pre existing health condition. Although this will not officially take effect until 2014 it is a light at the end of the tunnel for these Americans.

While this plan has a lot of faults as well as benefits it is important to look at who will be helped by such a health care plan. Just because some of us are lucky enough to have health insurance coverage it is important to remember that it is very easy to become one of those with a serious health issue or loss of employment that could leave anyone of us struggling to find health insurance coverage.

There is so much talk about Pres. Obama losing it and that he might eventually let go and move to other pressing issues  at the moment but the way it’s stands right now, It Is Not Going To Happen! So what is the real score with the public health care option part of the bill? Is it Dead?

But the way congress is right now, it would be very difficult to achieve what Mr. Obama has planned. Patients will be denied the care they need. Small business owners will continue to drop coverage altogether. I will not walk away from these Americans. ”

So what he is saying is that it has to done, but how? That is the big QUESTION!
